colestipol hydrochloride
co·les·ti·pol hy·dro·chlo·ride (ko-lesґtĭ-pol) [USP] an insoluble, high-molecular-weight anion exchange resin that binds bile acids in the intestines to form a complex that is excreted in the feces; administered orally as an antihyperlipoproteinemic in the treatment of familial hyperlipoproteinemia, type IIa, pruritus associated with partial biliary obstruction, and diarrhea due to excess bile acids in the colon.
