cev·i·mel·ine hy·dro·chlo·ride (sə-vimґə-lēn) a cholinergic agonist that acts on muscarinic receptors of effector cells, mimicking the effects of acetylcholine and increasing secretion of exocrine glands and smooth muscle tone of gastrointestinal and urinary tracts; used in the treatment of xerostomia associated with Sjцgren syndrome, administered orally.
