butyrate–CoA ligase

butyrate–CoA ligase
bu·ty·rate–CoA li·gase (buґtə-rāt ko-aґ liґgās) [EC 6.2.1.2] an enzyme of the ligase class that catalyzes the formation of acyl coenzyme A from medium chain length fatty acids (4 to 12 carbons) and coenzyme A, using energy derived from ATP hydrolysis.
