azel·as·tine hy·dro·chlo·ride (ə-zelґə-stēn) an antihistamine (H1 receptor antagonist) administered intranasally in the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever) and topically to the conjunctiva in the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis.
