aspartylglucosaminidase

aspartylglucosaminidase
as·par·tyl·glu·co·sa·min·i·dase (ə-spahr″təl-gloo-kōs″ə-minґĭ-dās) a lysosomal enzyme of the hydrolase class that catalyzes the cleavage of N-glycosidic linkages between N-acetylglucosamine and asparagine in glycoproteins, a step in the degradation of glycoproteins. Deficiency of the enzyme, an autosomal recessive trait, causes aspartylglycosaminuria. In official nomenclature, called N4-(β-N-acetylglucosaminyl)-L--asparaginase [EC 3.5.1.26].
