arteria marginalis coli
[TA] marginal artery of colon; a continuous vessel running along the inner perimeter of the large intestine from the ileocolic junction to the rectum, formed by branches from the superior and inferior mesenteric arteries and giving rise to straight arteries that supply the intestinal wall. Called also a. juxtacolica and arcus marginalis coli [TA alternatives], juxtacolic artery, marginal artery of Drummond, and marginal arcade.
