prostate-specific membrane antigen

prostate-specific membrane antigen
(PSMA) a substance often expressed by the most aggressive clones of prostate cancer cells; monoclonal antibody tests for PSMA appear to be more sensitive than those using prostate-specific antigen alone in finding circulating prostate cancer cells and may be useful in identifying patients with a high risk of advanced disease.
