amidophosphoribosyltransferase
- amidophosphoribosyltransferase
- am·i·do·phos·pho·ri·bo·syl·trans·fer·ase (ə-me″do-) (am″ĭ-do-fos″fo-ri″bo-səl-transґfər-ās) [EC 2.4.2.14] an enzyme of the transferase class that catalyzes the first committed step in purine nucleotide biosynthesis, the transfer of an amino group to phosphoribosylpyrophosphate from glutamine, forming phosphoribosylamine as well as glutamate and pyrophosphate.
