alcohol dehydrogenase (NAD(P)+)
al·co·hol de·hy·dro·gen·ase (NAD(P)+) (alґkə-hol de-hiґdro-jən-ās) [EC 1.1.1.71] an enzyme of the oxidoreductase class that catalyzes the reversible oxidation of primary or secondary alcohols to aldehydes or ketones respectively, using NAD+ or NADP+ as an electron acceptor. The enzyme also interconverts retinol and retinal.
