Public Health Laboratory

Public Health Laboratory
(in Britain) a regional service, with headquarters at Colindale Avenue, London, to assist with the investigation and control of infections. Such laboratories are a separate organization from hospital laboratories, but they can be located within a hospital and can contribute to the day-to-day diagnosis of hospital in-patients and out-patients.
