A red pigmentation of urine caused by certain foods or drugs, and thus not actually hematuria. SYN: false hematuria.

pseu·do·he·ma·tu·ria (soo″do-he″mə-tuґre-ə) the presence in the urine of pigments that give it a pink or red color when hemoglobin and blood cells are not detectable. Called also false hematuria.
