Mucor
A genus of fungi (class Zygomycetes, family Mucoraceae), most species of which are saprobic; several are pathogenic and may cause zygomycosis in humans.

Mu·cor (muґkor) [L., “bread mold”] a genus of fungi of the family Mucoraceae, order Mucorales, which form delicate, white tubular filaments and spherical, black sporangia; it produces no stolons or rhizoids, and sporangiophores arise at all parts of the thallus. A number of species cause mucormycosis.
