a rare tumour that secretes excess amounts of the hormone gastrin, causing the Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Such tumours most frequently occur in the pancreas; about half of them are malignant.

gas·tri·no·ma (gas″trĭ-noґmə) a tumor that secretes gastrin. Most are islet cell tumors of cells other than the beta cells; some are found at sites such as the antrum of the stomach, the hilum of the spleen, or regional lymph nodes. This is the usual cause of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
