en·do·don·tics (en″do-donґtiks) [end- + odont- + -ics] the branch of dentistry concerned with the etiology, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases and injuries affecting the dental pulp, tooth root, and periapical tissue. In current usage, this term has a more restrictive meaning than endodontology, which refers to study of the pulp in both health and disease, although sometimes the terms are used interchangeably.
