Drechslera
A saprobic genus of fungi, frequently recovered in the clinical laboratory, characterized by conidia attached to a zigzagged conidiophore. Most species in this genus that cause phaeohyphomycosis in humans, cats, and horses have been transferred to the genera Bipolaris or Exserohilum.

Drechs·le·ra (dreksґlə-rə) a genus of Fungi Imperfecti of the form-class Hyphomycetes, form-family Dematiaceae, closely related to Bipolaris and Exserohilum. D. biseptaґta has been isolated from a human brain abscess. The perfect (sexual) stage of Drechslera species is in genus Cochliobolus.
