1. Usually the result of the repeated pairing of a normal sinus beat with a ventricular extrasystole. 2. See c. phase. 3. A condition in which one or more products of a reaction are the subsequent reactants (or substrates) of a second reaction.

coup·ling (kupґling) 1. the joining together of two things. 2. in genetics, the occurrence on the same chromosome in a double heterozygote of the two mutant alleles of interest. Cf. repulsion. 3. in cardiology, the serial occurrence of a normal heart beat followed closely by a premature beat.
