tubercle bacillus wax
a high-molecular-weight phosphatidic glycolipid extracted from the cell walls of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, made up of arabinoglycans and mycolic and muramic acids. It is used as an adjuvant to enhance the immunogenicity of tuberculin preparations.
