anomalous trichromatic vision

anomalous trichromatic vision
defective color vision in which a person has all three cone pigments, but one is deficient or anomalous (but not absent). There are three types: protanomaly, deuteranomaly, and tritanomaly; they may be either acquired (resulting from a retinal, cerebral, systemic, or toxic disorder) or congenital (inherited as an X-linked recessive trait). Called also anomalous trichromacy.
