- testosterone 17β-dehydrogenase (NADP+)
- tes·tos·te·rone 17β-de·hy·dro·gen·ase (NADP+) (tes-tosґtər-ōn de-hiґdro-jən-ās) [EC 1.1.1.64] a microsomal enzyme of the oxidoreductase class that catalyzes the reduction of Δ4-androstenedione to testosterone using NADPH as an electron donor; it also catalyzes the conversion of estrone to estradiol. Deficiency of the enzyme, an autosomal recessive trait, is called 17β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase deficiency. Called also 17β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase and 17-ketosteroid reductase.
