- a junctional tachycardia of slow onset, with a heart rate of 70 to 130 beats per minute. It is due to enhanced automaticity of the atrioventricular junctional tissue and is often associated with digitalis toxicity, acute myocardial infarction, acute carditis, or surgical trauma.
