- tachy·al·i·men·ta·tion (tak″e-al″ĭ-mən-taґshən) [tachy- + alimentation] a complication of the dumping syndrome consisting of hypoglycemia after the person eats; the cause is accelerated passage of glucose into the small intestine, from which it enters the bloodstream more rapidly than normal, stimulating production of insulin by the pancreas.
