Sush·rut Sam·hi·ta (shooshґrooth-thə sungґhee-tah) the classic surgical text of ayurveda, written 1000 BCE by the surgeon Sushruta and adapted from the sacred Indian texts known as the Vedas (approximately 3000 BCE).
