stratum griseum superficiale colliculi superioris
[TA] superficial gray layer of superior colliculus: a layer containing many small multipolar nerve cells which synapse with neurons from the overlying zonal layer and the underlying optic layer; it is Layer II of the colliculus. Called also s. cinereum.
