steryl-sulfatase

steryl-sulfatase
ster·yl-sul·fa·tase (sterґəl sulґfə-tās) [EC 3.1.6.2] a microsomal enzyme of the hydrolase class that catalyzes the cleavage of the sulfate group from sulfated sterols. Deficiency of the enzyme, an X-linked trait, causes X-linked ichthyosis. Called also steroid sulfatase.
