chronic nonspecific sialadenitis
an inflammatory disease of the major salivary glands, characterized by intermittent swelling that may lead to fibrous degeneration, resulting from obstruction of the salivary ducts by calculi, foreign bodies, tumors, or scar formation, with subsequent bacterial invasion.
