ro·sa·ra·mi·cin (ro″zə-rə-miґsin) a macrolide antibiotic, derived from Micromonospora rosaria, having a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria and some activity against gram-negative bacteria; the butyrate, propionate, sodium phosphate, and stearate salts have antibacterial activity similar to that of the base.
