pancreatic ribonuclease
[EC 3.1.27.5] an endoribonuclease isolated from the pancreas of ruminants and used extensively in studies of enzyme mechanics and in molecular biology research; it catalyzes cleavage specifically of terminal pyrimidine nucleoside 3′-phosphate residues. Called also r. I, RNase, RNase I, and RNase A.
