a radioactive isotope of rhenium, atomic mass 186, having a half-life of 3.78 days and emitting beta particles (1.077, 0.933 MeV) and gamma rays (0.137, 0.632, 0.768 MeV); in the form of a colloid suspension it has been injected into joints for synoviorthesis.
