Cen·tru·roi·des (sen″troo-roiґdēz) a genus of tropical and subtropical American scorpions of the family Buthidae, including several called bark scorpions. C. exilicauґda and C. suffuґsus are species found in desert areas of northern Mexico and the southwestern United States whose bites are poisonous.
