Ranunculaceae
Ra·nun·cu·la·ceae (rə-nung″ku-laґse-e) a family of flowering plants, most of which contain the glycoside ranunculin; when the plants are eaten, the ranunculin breaks down to form the lethal toxin protoanemonin. Genera include Aconitum, Actaea, Anemone, Cimicifuga, Clematis, Delphinium, Helleborus, Hydrastis, and Ranunculus.
