ramus communicans albus nervi spinalis
[TA] white communicating branch of spinal nerve: one of the two types of communicating nerve branches between a sympathetic ganglion and a spinal nerve; the white type are mostly myelinated, send impulses from the spinal nerves to and through the ganglia, and are located mainly in the thoracic and upper lumbar region. Cf. r. communicans griseus nervi spinalis.
