(VEP), visual evoked cortical potential in electroencephalography, changes in the evoked cortical potential when the eye is stimulated by light; variations are diagnostic for abnormalities of the visual system and for other disorders, particularly neurological disorders such as multiple sclerosis, that have visual symptoms.
