car·bi·nox·amine mal·e·ate (kahr″bin-okґsə-mēn) [USP] an ethanolamine derivative that acts as an antihistamine (H1 receptor antagonist) with sedative and anticholinergic effects; used in the treatment of allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, and cutaneous manifestations of allergic reactions, and as an ingredient in some cough and cold preparations; administered orally.
