Peptoniphilus
Pep·to·ni·phi·lus (pep″to-nĭ-philґəs) [peptone + Gr. philos loving] a genus of gram-positive bacteria of the family Peptostreptococcaceae that do not ferment sugar and use peptone as a major energy source; organisms are non–spore-forming, nonmotile, obligately anaerobic cocci, occurring in pairs, short chains, tetrads, or small clusters. The type species is P. asaccharolyґticus.
