- a common type of composite odontoma, with calcified dental tissues in an irregular mass, and without morphologic similarity to even rudimentary teeth.
Complex composite odontoma, characterized microscopically by irregular spaces containing residual elements of enamel matrix surrounded by septa of dentin interspersed with occasional areas of pulpal tissue. A fibrous connective tissue capsule is present in the periphery.
