[TA] arcuate nucleus of hypothalamus: a nucleus of nerve cells in the posterior hypothalamic region, extending into the median eminence and almost entirely surrounding the base of the infundibulum. Called also infundibular n., n. infundibularis [TA alternative] and n. semilunaris [TA alternative].
