acute uric acid nephropathy rapidly progressive nephropathy caused by the precipitation of uric acid crystals in the renal tubules, leading to obstruction and acute renal failure, seen especially in patients with lymphoproliferative or myeloproliferative diseases, usually after the induction of chemotherapy.
