- Nar·cis·sus (nahr-sisґəs) a genus of flowering plants of the family Amaryllidaceae, whose bulbs contain the toxin lycorine. N. pseudonarcisґsus L. is the daffodil. N. tazetґta contains the alkaloid tazettine.
