Myxosoma
Myxo·so·ma (mik″so-soґmə) [myxo- + Gr. soma body] a genus of parasitic protozoa (suborder Platysporina, order Bivalvulida), having a mucoid envelope around the spore. M. cerebraґlis infects salmonid fishes, causing whirling disease.
