- Mobilina
- Mo·bi·li·na (mo″bĭ-liґnə) [L. mobilis mobile] a suborder of ciliate protozoa of the order Peritrichida, subclass Peritrichia, which are mobile; usually conical, cylindrical, or discoidal; and orally and aborally flattened. They characteristically have a ciliary girdle and a complex thigmotactic apparatus at the aboral end, often with a highly distinctive denticulate ring of “teeth.†All species are ectoparasites or endoparasites of fresh water or marine vertebrates and invertebrates, and those found on the gills of fish are pathogenic.
