Mi·cro·stix-3 (miґkro-stiks) trademark for a reagent strip with a chemical test area for recognition of nitrite in urine, which turns pink on contact with nitrite, and two culture areas for semiquantification of bacterial growth after 18–24 hours of incubation. One culture area supports both gram-negative and gram-positive organisms; the other, only gram-negative organisms.
