Microsporum canis

Microsporum canis
a small-spored ectothrix that commonly causes ringworm in cats and dogs and can be transmitted to children, in whom it causes tinea capitis and tinea corporis. It is also probably the cause of a dermatomycosis in horses. It has perfect (sexual) stages in genus Arthroderma. Called also M. felineum and M. lanosum.
