Wintrobe method

Wintrobe method
(for erythrocyte sedimentation rate) EDTA-anticoagulated whole blood is placed in a Wintrobe hematocrit tube, the tube is left standing undisturbed in a vertical position, and the fall of the level of red cells in one hour is recorded in mm/hr. The volume of packed red cells can then be determined using the same tube.
