enzootic marasmus

enzootic marasmus
a condition of malnutrition in herbivorous animals due to a deficiency of one or more trace elements, especially cobalt or copper. It is marked by progressive emaciation, severe anemia, and finally prostration. See also bush sickness and salt sickness, under sickness, and see pining.
