Leishmania major

Leishmania major
a species, of the subgenus Leishmania, endemic in dry desert regions in portions of Africa, the Middle East, Asia, India, and southern Russia, and causing Old World cutaneous leishmaniasis, usually as a wet lesion. It is transmitted by Phlebotomus papatasi and other Phlebotomus species.
