1. an impression made of the entire edentulous arch of the maxilla or mandible, for the purpose of construction of a complete denture. 2. a negative registration of the entire denture-bearing area of the maxilla or mandible. 3. a negative registration of the entire denture-bearing and border seal areas of the edentulous mouth.
