controlled ovarian hyperstimulation
a method of assisted reproductive technology consisting of carefully monitored administration of agents designed to induce ovulation by a greater number of ovarian follicles and thus increase the probability of an oocyte being fertilized. Called also controlled ovarian stimulation.
