anaphylactic hypersensitivity
the most severe form of type I hypersensitivity, manifest as anaphylaxis. The term is sometimes used more loosely to describe any form of type I hypersensitivity, when contrasting this group with other types of hypersensitivity (e.g., types II–IV).
