hypernasality
hy·per·na·sal·i·ty (hi″pər-na-zalґĭ-te) an excessively nasal quality of voice, which may result in unintelligible speech; the cause is velopharyngeal insufficiency with emission of too much air through the nose. Called also rhinolalia aperta and open rhinolalia.
