Hortaea
Hor·taea (hor-teґə) a genus of Fungi Imperfecti of the family Dothioraceae. Its only species is H. wernecґkii (formerly called Exophiala werneckii and Phaeoannellomyces werneckii), a halophilic, dematiaceous yeast that inhabits the soil, particularly in tropical and subtropical climates, and is the cause of tinea nigra.
